Marisa specializes in building successful relationships with key stakeholders in very challenging and politically charged project environments and has a proven track record of building trust and credibility while supporting client goals. Marisa is an expert at implementing community outreach programs for infrastructure projects in the environmental, final design, and construction stage of project development. She works to ensure that residents, commuters and businesses are engaged in project status.

Marisa’s experience includes working for San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) Lilac to Rancho Double Track Project, SBCTA On Call Public Outreach/SR-60 Central Avenue, SBCTA Redlands Passenger Rail Project, and Metrolink Van Nuys Station Improvement Project. Most recently, Marisa began working with SBCTA as their On-Site Manager and Community Liaison Manager for their Highway and Transit/Rail Program. She is also currently working Moffatt & Nichol, LSA and JBA and Associates in providing business development consulting and training.

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA): Public Outreach & Event Management Contract

Subconsultant to Costin Public Outreach Group

On Site Manager & Community Liaison Manager

March 2019 – Present

As a subconsultant to Costin Public Outreach Group, Ms. Greenway is assisting in leading the public outreach effort as On-Site Manager and Community Liaison Manager to provide agency-wide Public Outreach and Event Management for 19 projects in the transportation industry. Marisa assists the Project Manager in developing a public outreach and messaging work plan for each project, and coordinates with SBCTA Media Services and Graphic Design Consultants to provide consistent thematic messaging for all projects. She is also assisting in developing a marketing and advertising strategy leading up to and including the service launch of express lane projects (i.e. The I-10 Corridor Project).Other outreach services Marisa is working on and assisting the Project Manager include: Developing agency messaging materials and talking points for briefing documents; Facilitating multilingual public meetings and public hearings and recording of meeting minutes; Coordination with Construction teams and Public Outreach staff for development and delivery of project specific construction alerts and mitigation messaging; Develop advertisement and marketing campaigns(including print, radio, and television); General Event Management services: Public Outreach Meetings/Ground Breaking/Ribbon Cutting and other SBCTA Special Events(i.e.Business to Business Expo); Conducting public surveys; Coordinating Community Advisory Groups; Website content development and updating; Coordination with professional and industry associations; Developing a strategic plan for the use of digital and social media for public outreach.

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA): Redlands Passenger Rail Project/Arrow

Community Outreach Manager

As a Community Outreach Manager on the public outreach contract for the Redlands Passenger Rail Project (RPRP)/Arrow, Ms. Greenway is responsible for: coordinating and facilitating monthly communications meetings with SBCTA and Omnitrans, creating and implementing a Social Media Campaign for each phase of the project, creating and implementing a Rail Safety Campaign for the construction and service launch phase of the project, coordinate and facilitate public and stakeholder meetings/briefings as well as work with schools, first responders and hospitals/large medical facilities to update them on a regular basis regarding the project.  She is also responsible for updating the Public Outreach Plan during each phase of the project.

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA): On Call Public Outreach Contract SR-60/Central Avenue Task Order Manager

As Public Outreach & Project Manager on the On-Call Public Outreach Contract Task Order for the SR-60/Central Avenue project, Ms. Greenway is working closely with SBCTA and the city of Chino. The goal of this program is to communicate SBCTA and the city of Chino’s activities to the public in clear and understandable language, minimize negative perception of the project, and build and maintain good customer relations with the communities and business owners affected by this project. Ms. Greenway’s team acts as the liaison between SBCTA’s public affairs, the city of Chino and the public. She seeks and develops opportunities to provide updated information at city of Chino scheduled events. She keeps the project area stakeholders informed and cultivate and maintain relationships with residents, businesses, schools, and key community leaders. Ms. Greenway is working closely with the ROW consultant to ensure the local businesses affected are being communicated to. She is also working closely with the city of Chino to coordinate all logistics for a public meeting in November to update the community on the project. In addition, she is in the process of developing a working group with Caltrans as they are conducting 5 other projects within the same project radius. In coordinating this working group, Ms. Greenway can ensure they are in communication with Caltrans and providing to the community a clear and concise message regarding all projects. Her work also includes development of marketing materials related to the project, which includes flyers; email blasts, website/social media images. Stakeholder education; database development and maintenance; website management; development of and distribution of collateral materials including fact sheets, newsletters, flyers; meeting coordination, facilitation, conflict resolution, and consensus building; management of Community Open House, and assistance to Caltrans with government and media outreach.

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) General Assembly Event

Event Manager

2016 – 2018

The SBCTA General Assembly event draws hundreds of leaders from across the Inland Empire and addresses important policy issues on a variety of topics including land use and housing, transportation, energy, and air quality. The General Assembly is an opportunity to hear from the SBCTA Board President regarding what SBCTA has accomplished in the past year and what lies ahead in the coming year. In addition to networking opportunities with agency executives, elected officials, and industry leaders from across Southern California, each year the General Assembly featured a keynote speaker. Historically, the General Assembly event hosts approximately 200 attendees with an annual budget of about $105,000.00.

Services provided by The Greenway Group, Inc., include: event planning and logistics management; event coordination, guest list management and targeted event-specific communication; production of event-related collateral; event budget creation, management and reporting; monthly event planning meetings with client; sponsorship/fundraising communication coordination and management; seating arrangement and registration coordination; and post-event debriefs and recommendations.

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA): Lilac to Rancho Double Track Project

City of Rialto and City of San Bernardino; Subconsultant to Moffatt & Nichol

As a subconsultant to Moffatt & Nichol, Ms. Greenway led the public outreach effort as Outreach Manager for the Lilac to Rancho Double Track project in San Bernardino County within the cities of Rialto and San Bernardino. The goal of this program was to communicate SBCTA’s activities to the public in clear and understandable language, minimize negative perception of the project, and build and maintain good customer relations with the communities affected by this project. Ms. Greenway’s team acted as the liaison between SBCTA’s public affairs and the public to seek and develop opportunities to identify and represent SBCTA at community events, briefings and other forums. She kept the project area stakeholders informed and cultivated and maintained relationships with residents, businesses, and key community leaders. She worked closely with Metrolink to ensure they were apprised of all materials and events. In addition, her work included development of marketing materials related to the design of the Double Track, which included flyers; email blasts, website/social media images. She also coordinated two (2) community meetings to educate the community about the current phase of the project as well as host a Facebook live event during the community meetings to ensure engagement from those who were unable to attend the meetings in person. The Facebook live event was promoted via the flyer and community meeting invitation. Due to a particular property within the project corridor, the Lilac to Rancho Double Track project ended up having to go through CEQA approval after our first community meeting. In order to acknowledge the CEQA/Environmental Approval process, Ms. Greenway had to work closely with the environmental consultant to ensure all actions were being taken to comply with the CEQA noticing requirements as it pertains to advertising about the CEQA Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration. This included: updating all previous marketing materials to include information on where to find the environmental document and comment period and distribute it through mailer and online postings, work with local newspapers to post print and social media advertisements about the public meeting and environmental document, host another public meeting with updated information including availability of environmental document and collect comments, and provide copies of the environmental document to the local libraries in each city as well as at the City Hall of Rialto and San Bernardino so as the documents were accessible to the public. Other outreach services completed during this project included: Stakeholder education; database development and maintenance; development of, distribution of and coordinating of printing for all collateral materials including fact sheets, newsletters, flyers, meeting invitations, and boards; meeting coordination; management of Community Meetings.

Metrolink: Van Nuys Track Improvement Project

As a Community Liaison on the Metrolink: Van Nuys Track Improvement Project, Ms. Greenway worked closely with Costin Public Outreach Group to provide community engagement and outreach including one-on-one meetings with key stakeholders; development of all flyers, fact sheets and boards for station platform outreach events; creation and maintenance of stakeholder database.
